Following appearances from D.C. heavy hitters this morning the S&P 500 opened up 2.5%. However, equities have faded throughout the day and the S&P turned negative before bouncing back to positive territory. Yesterday’s range was over 400 points and today is about half that, though the march lower was steadily expanding it. Sectors are mixed with about half holding onto gains. Financials and Tech are outperforming. US Treasuries are more subdued today but are still moving, especially at the long end. The curve is steepening as the 10-year is up 6bp, the 30-year is up 11bp and the 2-year is down 4bp.
