The volatility that kicked in last Thursday after the tariff announcement continued this week. Actually it accelerated, creating even bigger intraday trading ranges than last week. Incredibly, the S&P managed to end the week up 6% despite the vol and a brief appearance in a bear market (more below). A huge 10% rally on Wednesday produced much of the upside, but we also closed strongly, up 2% on Friday and near the intraday high. Mega and large cap growth led the way bouncing strongly after a wicked sell off last week. Small and mid-caps lagged, up 2-3%.
